The character of the route:

Starting from the tomb of Sheikh Hamid-i Veli, known as Somuncu Baba, one of the famous saints of Anatolia, the route proceeds on undulating paths after a short climb out of the city. These trails, which give experienced cyclists a taste of adventure, stop by the village of Gençosman, which the villagers call Dorukini (this name is thought to come from the dug underground, which is now 200-300 m away from the village).

Notes to Travelers:

• You can eat delicious meals at the restaurants in Aksaray and relax in the cafes.
• Female visitors should have a scarf to use when visiting the shrine.
• If you want to see the images of the people of Aşıklı Höyük, one of the first communities to settle down, and the skull where the first brain surgery was performed, you can visit the Aksaray Museum, where the mummies on Manastırlar Hill are also exhibited.
